CLASSIC ROCK 107.9 PRESENTS
AN EVENING OF LED ZEPPELIN
PERFORMED BY MICHAEL WHITE & THE WHITE
SATURDAY APRIL 22, 2017 • 7:30pm
Led Zeppelin’s music will echo through the high ceilings of Cobourg's most prestigious venue, when Michael White & The White bring the sounds of Zeppelin to The Concert Hall At Victoria Hall. The show will be presented by CLASSIC ROCK 107.9 FM and will feature two classic albums (Led Zeppelin 1 & 2) performed in their entirety as well as incorporating an incredible multimedia visual extravaganza on a big screen backdrop. This classic rock live concert will have even the most ardent Led Zeppelin fans cheering for more.
After Beatlemania, The White was the first musical group to be known as a tribute band. Mr. White formed the The White in 1977. Since then, the group has played over 8,000 shows to over a million fans around the world. Although he has been performing Led Zeppelin's music for so many years, Mr. White doesn’t get tired of it. “I love it,” he said. “The music is as vital today as it ever was.” At one recent show in particular, Mr. White said three generations attended together.
While some people may have connotations of Led Zeppelin being into black magic, the occult and witchcraft, White insists there is a lighter, spiritual side of Led Zeppelin. The lyrics to Stairway to Heaven are a good example. Led Zeppelin lead vocalist Robert Plant has termed it a song of hope. One line goes, "There's still time to change the road you're on". It's inspirational," White declared. "Victoria Hall has such great acoustics. It's a perfect venue for an old school rock show!"
White's musical career has ranged beyond Led Zeppelin. In addition to recording both solo and group releases for Atlantic Records he has also recorded and performed with artists such as Nikki Sixx, Alice Cooper, Keith Emerson, Steve Morse, Dweezil Zappa, Steve Lukather Rick Wakeman, and Jeff Healey.
But Zeppelin has always been with him. The Led Zeppelin music he and his band The White play is so true to the spirit of their idols that they have actually been endorsed by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant.
"Michael White sings Led Zeppelin, I sing Robert Plant." — Robert Plant
"Michael White does it best!" — Jimmy Page
"Very Entertaining show. Remarkably similar to Zeppelin, with a solid and accurate sound." — Toronto Star
